Stampin Up Watercolour Resist

How gorgeous is this card?  I love it. AND it’s purple – I’m not a purple lover, but I still think this is lovely 🙂 I’m calling it “Stampin Up watercolour resist technique” and it’s a take on the clear emboss technique but with a bit of a twist and it was shared on a group that I’m part of last week and I thought I would share with you.

Wendy Cranford is a very talented Stampin Up Demo from the US and she shares how she did this in this video on her blog post HERE.

Here is what she did in a nutshell….

She coloured the background with marker pens to add colour onto Watercolour paper.  Then she flooded the paper with water and to mix the different colours together.  Then dry the design.  Use Versamark ink together with your stamp to stamp your design that you want darker onto your watercolour paper.  Cover with clear embossing powder and heat.  Leave to cool down.  Then add more water over the background to make the background that isn’t protected by the melted powder lighter.

Here’s another design with the similar colours…

Stampin Up Season to Season Wreath kit

Stampin Up at the Sandown Craft Show

Wow – what a great last few days at the Sandown Show!  It was so lovely to see so many people and it’s definately becoming apparent that there aren’t many papercrafters out there that haven’t heard of Stampin Up nowadays.

On Friday, I shared the Stampin Up Season to Season Wreath kit and today I just thought that I would share a picture of the actual wreath on the stand that Jan made.

It just goes to show that you don’t have to make these kits exactly like the instructions but you can change things around a bit.  How lovely is this?

And the kit comes with so much more too – have a look at it HERE.

I’ve got a very busy couple of weeks ahead of me, so whilst I’d love to be sitting here, in what might be the last of the sunshine, I’ve got to get on! I’ve got my class in Lingfield on Thursday that I need to get ready for and I’ll share that with you on Friday.

Enjoy the last of the weekend!

Stampin Up Gift from the Garden

Stampin Up Gift from the Garden

Today was a tense day in the O’Shea household.  GCSE results day!

Tense, because, whilst I know that Ethan is a bright kid, he unfortunately favours being the class clown, not concentrating and definately not revising.

He wants to go to a local Football Academy and he needed 5 GCSE’s to be able to do the course together with a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Sport (Coaching, Development & Fitness). He is already talking about going to America to do a sports scholarship afterwards.

So, after what seemed like forever, I got the call (I wasn’t allowed down the school with him!), and I’m happy to report that he got 7 GCSE’s.  I’m so happy, proud (and relieved!) that he got the five he needed.

I think that the penny has now dropped and he realises that he was lucky and needs to work his socks off over the next two years.  However, it’s something that he is passionate about, so hopefully he will be a bit more focussed!

Back on the crafting front, today is also our last card from this month’s Card Class that was held the first Thursday of the month in Lingfield, Surrey and the third Monday of the month in Crawley, West Sussex. Using three of the latest In Colours and the Stampin Up Gift from the Garden stamp set, another great card for those green fingers friends and family that you may know! If you like the look of the cards this week, then why not come along and join us in September – we would love to have you.  See more details HERE

Don’t forget this weeks Weekly Deals too – you’ve got until the end of next Tuesday. Check them out HERE.

Have a great weekend and I’ll see you again on Monday x
