New Stampin Up website

Helloooooooooooooo (echos!),

So, as you can see it’s been a looooonnnnngggg time since I’ve been here updating my blog.

But there is a reason for this…..

I have a new website!!!! Wooooo hoooooo.

Natalie OShea logo

It has taken months and months of soul searching, decision making and brain strain, but I am really happy to announce that is open for business!

And now that I am much happier with the layout and things, there will be a lot more shared more frequently on it.

So, wave bye bye to Simple Stampin and I’m back to just being me and helping share the knowledge of Papercrafting Made Easy.

I’d love to see you over there and tell me what you think.  And if you wanted to see what I got up to on my recent Stampin’ Up! incentive trip, then it’s all updated over there too.

Come on over –

Stampin Up Easter Lamb

Stampin Up Easter Lamb

I hope you are having a wonderful long weekend.  The weather here doesn’t know what it is doing from hail, to rain to blue skies and sunshine, it’s all a bit confused.  However, I hope that the above samples inspire you to use your Stampin Up Easter Lamb stamp.  It doesn’t have to just be for Easter, lambs work for Spring and we are in full Spring mode now that the clocks went forward last night.  I’m happy that the evening are continuing to get even lighter. And despite the weather, life seems to be getting brighter and easier!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend, whatever you have planned x

Stampin Up Watercolour Resist

How gorgeous is this card?  I love it. AND it’s purple – I’m not a purple lover, but I still think this is lovely 🙂 I’m calling it “Stampin Up watercolour resist technique” and it’s a take on the clear emboss technique but with a bit of a twist and it was shared on a group that I’m part of last week and I thought I would share with you.

Wendy Cranford is a very talented Stampin Up Demo from the US and she shares how she did this in this video on her blog post HERE.

Here is what she did in a nutshell….

She coloured the background with marker pens to add colour onto Watercolour paper.  Then she flooded the paper with water and to mix the different colours together.  Then dry the design.  Use Versamark ink together with your stamp to stamp your design that you want darker onto your watercolour paper.  Cover with clear embossing powder and heat.  Leave to cool down.  Then add more water over the background to make the background that isn’t protected by the melted powder lighter.

Here’s another design with the similar colours…

And another one….

I really like the effect and thought you might like it too 🙂

Stampin Up at the Make It Show last weekend

Make it Show Farnborough Stampin Up

Hi all,

I’ve been a bit quiet the last week all because of the above picture!  Stampin Up were at the Make It Show at Farnborough last weekend.

It’s a show that I’ve done for about 6 years now and I often hear how many crafters think it’s the best show in the south!  There is lots of space around the stands so you can get around easily and it has the best of papercrafts and needlecrafts under one roof.

The very lovely Zoe Pierson ran three classes for me whilst on the stand the lovely Pip, Jan, Jane and Fiona were demonstrating our lovely kits and helping people with a free Make and Take.  Here is the card that attendees could make on the Friday…

Stampin Up Make and Take

A simple watercoloured card using Blushing Bride and Pool Party combination. A colour wash background made using the Pool Party ink with the Aquapainters, the balloons were initially stamped in Pink Pirouette and the accent dots stamped in Blushing Bride.  Some black strings and a sentiment and you are done.

I have to admit that whilst 99.9% of the time I would say to you stamp, then punch, I actually found it easier to punch and then stamp with these balloons.  Try it and see what is easier for you….

On Saturday, this was the Make and Take card cased straight out of the Spring / Summer catalogue….

Stampin Up Make and Take

More watercolouring and the colours used on this are Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, Old Olive, Mossy Meadow and Mint Macaron.  All topped off with a flick of Wink of Stella clear over the top for some sparkle 🙂

So, as you can imagine a lot of prep work before a big event and then collapsing afterwards, packing away again and then keeping in touch with everyone who wanted to hear from us.  So if you are new around here, and only met us at the Make It Show – HELLO! Lovely to have you here.

I’ll be back soon with some more Stampin Up Creativity, so I look forward to seeing you again soon!

Stampin Up Party Pants – new free stamp set

Stampin Up Saleabration Party pants

Hi again all,

Well, you are surely loving the Stampin Up glitter washi tape – can you believe that one of my team members, Cary, did this with it? My nails look exactly the same as this but in silver, but I paid to have mine painted on – seems like I may have an alternative now! LOL!

So, those eagle eyed amongst you will have noticed a new stamp set used in the images at the top of the page. This is another one of the new Sale-a-Bration items which is a new stamp set called Party Pants. A great solid balloon with sentiments that fit in the centre just perfectly! Balloons certainly seem to be all the rage at the moment!

Stampin Up Sale-a-Bration metallic tapesThe gold is so glitzy, the silver is so sparkly and the white, well it can be a rainbow of colours as you can colour it with your Stampin Up inks – how great is that? Glitter tape in all 50 Stampin Up colours!  Have a look at this video to find out more about the tape and how you can colour the white tape.

How fab is that?  So, how do you get your hands on it?  Just spend £45 or more on Stampin Up products and you can GET THESE FOR FREE! CLICK HERE to be taken to my online shop where you can get yours.

Stampin Up Bloomin Love

Blushing Bride and Rose Red are the colours used today  Another bit of Wink of Stella to add some glitter to some of the flowers which you can see a little bit on the above and some rhinestones in the centre of some Blushing Bride sequins to ramp up that bling factor and compete with that Blushing Bride glimmer card – but you could use the new tape coloured with your Blushing Bride inkpad too instead!

The strip on the right hand side has been stamped with Blushing Bride ink on the Blushing Bride cardstock but you could get a similar tone on tone effect by using a Versamark pad too.

Hope you like it and I’ll be back soon after I’ve played with my metallic tapes!
